"The Real Prize"
For many years we have had the wrong emphasis.
Why is that? Because we focus on a person going to heaven when they die, instead of focusing on Jesus when we are alive!
This is man-centered instead of God-centered, it is shallow and selfish.
We must understand that the real goal is not heaven. The real goal is Jesus.
To desire heaven just to be out of your troubles or to escape hell is very empty and missing the point. The point is Jesus Christ.
The Bible teaches that our goal in life should be:
To know God-Jeremiah 9:23-24
To walk with God-Micah 6:8
To love God-Matthew 22:37-38
To please God-Revelation 4:11
Therefore, the real goal and meaning of life is to know, walk with, love, and please God.
Jesus is God, so our goal in life should be to know Him,
walk close to Him, fall in love with Him, and to live to please Jesus Christ.
Being in a close relationship with Jesus now is "heaven on earth". Then to grow deeper and deeper in love in with Him and to live with Him forever is eternal Heaven.
Loving and serving Jesus should be our greatest desire!

A God Centered Church
“He (Jesus Christ) also is the Head of His body, the church,…
so that He alone in everything and in every respect
might occupy the chief place (stand first
and be pre-eminent).” Colossians 1:18
The church world in the United States
has created a man-centered Christianity
based upon big ministries and strong personalities.
This has produced pride, selfishness,
jealousy, and an evil ambition to exalt our gifts,
our ministries, and ourselves.
This is contrary to
the word of God which teaches die to self,
humble yourselves then you will be exalted,
and the greatest is the servant.
The Lord Jesus Christ is our great example
for He humbled Himself, became a servant,
and died so that we could be saved.
The Lord is moving by His Spirit to try to change this:
from a man-centered Christianity to God-centered,
from a man-centered church to a God-centered church,
and from a self-centered life to a life entirely
centered on Jesus Christ.
